ABOUT:

Join us for the FIRST season of the Junior Viewettes Dance Team coached by veteran MVDT Coaches Ingrid Sampson & Nikki Sharpe. This new program is open to students in 5th & 6th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. As a team we will be working on dance skills, learning a routine, and finishing up the season performing at the Mounds View High School Viewettes Dance Team Winterfest Invitational on Saturday January 25th, 2025 at MVHS. You will also be working with current members of the Viewettes Dance Team. We are so excited for this new program!

The Jr. Viewettes is open to ALL dancers 5th-6th grade that are future students of Mounds View High School. We do NOT have tryouts. If you are interested you can participate! Our only requirement is that you register for our team. Registration is through Mounds View Community Ed.

 

The cost of registration includes instruction & team t-shirt.

INGRID SAMPSON:

Ingrid started her classical ballet training at the age of 3, and went on to learn Vaganova & Balanchine technique at Saint Paul Ballet and Minnesota Dance Theatre. She was a Varsity member of the Viewettes dance team during her senior year of high school, and has been a Viewettes coach since 2021. She attended the University of Minnesota for her bachelor's degree and is now pursuing her master's degree in counseling psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Nothing makes Ingrid happier than teaching dance and she can't wait for the new season to begin! 

 

NIKKI SHARPE:

Nikki is starting her 9th year coaching and 3rd year with MVDT. She has been a dancer since she was 7 years old. Nikki started at studio until she joined the Eastview LDT and won 2 State Championship titles. After high school, Nikki was on her college dance team at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for 3 years and ran her own dance program for 4 years. After college she competed internationally for 3 years. Outside of dance Nikki works as a school based mental health therapist and spends time with her dog Arlo!
